Heritage Pays Tribute to Dr. Lee Edwards

VOC Co-Founder Dr. Lee Edwards was posthumously honored on Monday, March 10 at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C. Friends and family members of Dr. Edwards—including VOC’s President and CEO Dr. Eric Patterson and Chairman of the Board Elizabeth Spalding—were welcomed to share stories of the late legend.

Dr. Patterson referred to Dr. Edwards as both a great friend and leader, and was one of many speakers who described the tremendous impact of the organization he founded.

“Lee’s legacy will be defined by his immense contributions, his mentorship, and his unwavering dedication to the principles of freedom and liberty,” said VOC Chairman Emeritus, Dr. Ed Feulner.

Dr. Spalding—Dr. Edwards’ daughter—told the crowd that her father died comfortably at home, holding a rosary and shroud under a blanket with a depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Speeches were also given by Dr. Kevin Roberts, Matthew Continetti, Dr. Paul Kengor, VOC Trustee Amb. Paula Dobriansky, Roger Ream, Lithuanian Amb. Audra Plepyte, VOC Board Vice Chair Randy Teague, and Richard Viguerie.
