Fellowships in Polish Studies

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation seeks candidates for the positions of Research Fellow and Senior Research Fellow in Polish Studies.

Both fellowships will be based in our offices in Washington, DC and will report directly to the Director of Academic Programs. Fellows will be tasked with writing a report of significant length on an agreed upon subject relevant to the Foundation’s mission and to participate fully in the publication and promotion process, including public presentations and briefings to Congressmen, administrative officials, diplomatic delegations, and academic conferences as appropriate. Fellows will also assist in organizing the Foundation’s yearly academic conference on Central and Eastern Europe.

Salary and benefits are competitive and include a generous research support package for research- and conference- related travel. Fellows not already residing in the Washington, DC area will be provided with a housing stipend for the duration of the fellowship. Polish nationals are especially encouraged to apply. The 10-month fellowships will begin on October 1, 2021 and conclude on July 31, 2022.
