ABOUT THE VICTIMS OF COMMUNISM MEMORIAL FOUNDATION

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is an educational and human rights non-profit organization devoted to commemorating the more than 100 million victims of communism around the world and to the freedom of those still living under totalitarian and collectivist regimes.

VOC built the only memorial in the world dedicated to every single victim of communism. It was dedicated in 2007, and has become a pilgrimage destination for thousands every year, from foreign heads of state and diplomats to those who fled communism for safety and freedom in the United States.

We don’t just care about the past. Our mission is to educate this generation and future generations about the history, ideology, and legacy of communism. The Berlin Wall fell, but communism didn’t, and its legacy—in recognizable shades and iterations—is very much with us. We envision a world free from the false hope of communism.
