VOC Launches 4th Edition of Curriculum on Communism

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is excited to announce the launch of the fourth edition of its curriculum, Communism: Its Ideology, Its History, and Its Legacy. VOC is proud to expand its offering of resources for rising generations of teachers and students to study the criminal past and enduring legacy of communism.

Tied to state and national standards of learning, this new curriculum features eleven chapters spanning from the penning of the Communist Manifesto, through the Cold War, and into the captive nations of today. “Featuring classroom activities, peer-reviewed essays, take-home assessments, and supplemental resources, this new edition will empower teachers in educating on the truth of communism,” said Dr. Eric Patterson, President and CEO of VOC. “Aside from covering communism’s brutality, we also inspire students with stories of the freedom movements and heroes who have stood up to communist oppression.”

The fourth edition of VOC’s educational resource was made by teachers, for teachers. “VOC’s curriculum is an invaluable resource that helps me distill decades of information into manageable learning modules,” said educator Catherine O’Connor. “The lesson plans are easily digestible both to teach from and to learn from, which has been incredibly impactful for my students and helpful for me as a teacher.”

The curriculum is immediately available via VOC’s Amazon bookshop. VOC will host an educators’ webinar on using the curriculum in January and will feature the curriculum at teacher workshops in Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington, DC in 2025.
