Dániel Magay

A witness to the historic events of the 1956 Hungarian Revolution, Dániel Magay won a gold medal for fencing in the Olympic Games that same year. Victory turned to defeat, however, when Soviet tanks rolled back in to Budapest and resumed communist rule; Magay had to choose whether to stay in his home country or flee to America—a decision that would change the course of his life.
