Socialism & America’s 250th – A Conversation With Os Guinness

On September 17, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation hosted a conversation with renowned author and social critic Os Guinness on socialism and America’s 250th.

America continues to celebrate the birthday of the Republic at the same time that a political movement — so-called ‘democratic socialism’ — has pledged to “rewrite the Constitution” and overturn many of America’s key institutions. In contrast to previous generations, polls suggest that over 60% of America’s young adults favor socialism or communism. What is to be done? During this conversation, Os Guinness explored how to overcome the challenges of all forms of Marxism and totalitarianism in our time, the brilliance of America’s founding principles, and the current threat posed by communism.

The event was moderated by VOC President and CEO Dr. Eric Patterson, and concluded with a reception sponsored by the American Association of Evangelicals.
