Payá Continues Her Father’s Quest for a Free Cuba

On April 6, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation hosted the conversation “A Cuban Dissident’s View: Memory, Justice, and US-Cuban Relations” with Cuban dissident Rosa María Payá, following the re-introduction of a bipartisan bill to rename the street in front of the Cuban Embassy in D.C. as “Oswaldo Payá Way”.

Rep. Dennis Ross (R-FL), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) joined Rosa María to discuss her father’s legacy and Cuba’s path to democracy.

Changing the street name will serve as a permanent reminder that the US supports the aspirations of Cuba’s citizens to decide their own future.
