Kim McGrath
Kim McGrath is the Director of the Victims of Communism-St. Louis Commission (VOC-STL). In this role she oversees the daily and long-term initiatives and development of the commission, represents the organization in the community, serves as the primary liaison with VOC, and works to develop unique educational programming and build awareness and support in and around the St. Louis area. With a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a master’s degree in International Relations, McGrath has more than 20 years of experience in the areas of journalism, marketing, non-profit development, community engagement, elementary education, and international higher education. Currently working on her Education Doctorate, McGrath is committed to VOC’s mission and is proud to lead the Foundation’s first local commission. She is a long-time St. Louisan who has served in a volunteer leadership capacity for many local, national and international organizations including the St. Louis Central Democratic Committee, the Shaw Neighborhood Improvement Association, the Shaw Neighborhood Ownership Model (NOM), the International Institute, Acción Social Comunitaria, the Association of International Educators (NAFSA) and the Global Leadership League. McGrath’s op-ed “St. Louis Marks a New Era in Global History,” appeared in the Missouri Times and the Columbia Regional Airport news. She has been interviewed on KMOX news, including the Charlie Brennan Show with Amy Marxkors, and invited to speak with the Show Me Institute’s Dr. Susan Pendergrass and Patrick Ishmael on “the Communist Movement in St. Louis.”
