The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, U.S. Committee for Ukrainian Holodomor-Genocide Awareness, and The Embassy of Ukraine hosted an in-person discussion on Holodomor Then, Genocide Now, Justice When? on Thursday, November 2 at 3:30pm at the Victims of Communism Museum located at 900 15th St, NW in Washington, D.C.
The event gave a voice for those who can no longer speak for themselves and included remarks from Her Excellency, Ambassador Markarova, Ukrainian Ambassador to the U.S., and the Founding Director of the VOC Museum, Elizabeth Spalding, Ph.D. The event also included expert discussions on the war in Ukraine and the weaponization of food with Former Prime Minister of Lithuania, His Excellency Andrius Kubilius and Brian Whitmore, Nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center. Attendees toured the museum and viewed the newly installed Holodomor exhibition.
