Film Screening: Siberia in the Bones

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, in partnership with the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova, hosted a film screening of “Siberia in the Bones” on Tuesday, March 26th at the VOC Museum.

“Siberia in the Bones” is dedicated to the Moldovans deported to Siberia under the Stalinist regime and was made to commemorate 70 years since the deportations. The docudrama is structured around the stories of four children who were forcibly exiled during the second wave of deportations, on the night of July 6 to 7, 1949.

The event began with light refreshments and opening remarks from Ambassador Viorel Ursu and Ambassador Andrew Bremberg, followed by the film screening.
