Anti-Communist Film Festival

Join the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation for our first annual Anti-Communist Film Festival. This multiday event will be held at the VOC Museum, just two blocks from the White House, and feature some of the greatest films that depict the struggle of living under communist tyranny and the heroic fight for freedom against this oppressive ideology.

VOC’s 2026 Anti-Communist Film Festival will take place from October 1-4 and include movies for all audiences and age ranges.

We are excited to announce that our headline film will be The Lives of Others, winner of the 2027 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film of the Year. As noted film critic Roger Ebert wrote, “The Lives of Others is a powerful but quiet film, constructed of hidden thoughts and secret desires. It begins with Wiesler teaching a class in the theory and practice of interrogation; one chilling detail is that suspects are forced to sit on their hands, so that the chair cushion can be saved for possible use by bloodhounds. It shows how the Wall finally fell, not with a bang, but because of whispers.”

Stay tuned to learn about the full lineup of films, special events, and how to register. We hope to see you there!
