VOC Leads Captive Nations Week Letter to President Biden

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) applauds the White House’s recognition of the 2021 Captive Nations Week.

On July 2, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) sent a co-signed letter to President Biden urging him to issue a strong 2021 Captive Nations Week proclamation. See below for the full letter.

On July 16, President Biden issued a strong Captive Nations Week Proclamation. In his Captive Nations Week Proclamation, President Biden said, “During Captive Nations Week, we recommit ourselves to those principles which form the foundation of our Nation, and to amplify the voices of courageous individuals around the world who are striving to advance the principles of human rights, justice, and the rule of law.”

President Biden also called attention to the destruction brought about by communism during a joint news conference on July 15 with Germany Chancellor Angela Merkel: “Communism is a failed system, a universally failed system and I don’t see socialism as a very useful substitute…” -President Biden
