Captive Nations Christmas Tree

Join us at the VOC Museum for the inaugural lighting of the Captive Nations Christmas Tree on Saturday, December 14th at 11:00 AM. A symbol of hope and a solemn reminder of those persecuted for their faith by communist regimes around the globe, this holiday celebration will feature refreshments, festivities, and events for parents and children alike during VOC’s Family Day at the Museum.

Embassies, organizations, and private individuals are invited to contribute an ornament that represents their country’s unique heritage, culture, or history. Each ornament will symbolize solidarity with nations who have faced oppression and will serve as a meaningful reminder of the global pursuit of freedom and justice.

Thank you to our partners and friends who helped shine for freedom, including the Polish Embassy, the Hungarian Embassy, the Latvian Embassy, the Latvian American Association, the Moldovan Embassy, the Estonian Embassy, the Ukrainian Embassy, the US Ukrainian Activists, the Vietnamese Americans for Freedom, the Slovak Embassy, the Boat People SOS Organizations, the Lithuanian Embassy, the Lithuanian American Community, Keep Taiwan Free, the Belarusian American Association, the Czech Embassy, Save Ukraine, and the Delegation of the European Union to the United States.
