Call for Applications: Development Assistant

VOC is seeking a full-time Assistant to join the organization’s Development team in Washington, D.C.

Authorized in 1993 by a unanimous Act of Congress, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) is an educational, research, and human rights nonprofit organization devoted to commemorating the more than 100 million victims of communism around the world and to pursuing the freedom of those still living under totalitarian regimes.

VOC is seeking a full-time Assistant to join the organization’s Development team in Washington, D.C.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSWork with the Director of Development and Project Teams to promote the organization’s mission. Responsibilities include:

  • Grant writing for all VOC grant applications.
  • Assist with VOC’s donor communications, gift processing, and donor record management.
  • Assist with gift acknowledgement process.
  • Copywriting of VOC quarterly newsletter.

 EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLSEducation: Bachelor’s degree and 1-3 years of experience.Skills:

  • Must have a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills, be detail-oriented, precise, reliable, and proactive.
  • Knowledge of or interest in learning CRM database.
  • Must be able to excel in a multicultural, fast-paced work environment and be able to effectively shift priorities and multi-task.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required to interface effectively with all levels of staff and donors.
