Join VOC and the Benedict XVI Institute on Thursday, November 7, Victims of Communism Day, to commemorate the martyrs of communism. This virtual event, featuring Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone and VOC Chairman Dr. Elizabeth Edwards Spalding, will explore some of the heroes who suffered death at the hands of communist regimes, rather than betray their faith.
We hope you can join us.
Archbishop Salvatore J. Cordileone is the Archbishop of San Francisco. He is one of the most outspoken bishops in defense of those suffering under Marxist and Neo-Marxist regimes. Recently he launched a new project to honor the Martyrs of Communism with hymns, holy hours, poetry, and other media. In a March 6, 2024 essay in First Things magazine he explains why it is important to remember the heroic witness of believers under Communism.
Dr. Elizabeth Edwards Spalding is Chairman of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation (VOC) and Founding Director of the Victims of Communism Museum. She is Senior Fellow at the Pepperdine University School of Public Policy and Visiting Fellow at the Van Andel Graduate School of Government at Hillsdale College.
