Rep. Dana Rohrabacher
Dana Rohrabacher is a former House Representative from California. He served as a speechwriter and assistant to President Reagan and was a key figure in the formulation of the Reagan Doctrine, which pledged support for anti-communist fighters around the world who resisted Soviet aggression and expansion. After he was elected to Congress in 1988, Rohrabacher travelled to Afghanistan to aid the mujahedin fighters who he had helped to arm in their war against the Soviet Union. In 1968, he travelled to Czechoslovakia to work with anti-communist students, and shorty after returning protested the Soviet invasion of the country. He has also been an outspoken critic of Chinese human rights abuses, including its practices of illegal organ harvesting and forced labor camps. In 2007, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation awarded him with the Truman-Reagan Medal of Freedom.
