Chelsea Michta, Ph.D.
Research Fellow, 2020-2021
Dr. Chelsea Michta is the 2020-2021 Research Fellow in Polish Studies. She recently earned her PhD from the University of Cambridge where she wrote her dissertation on political realignments in Poland during and after the post-communist transformation. Her master’s thesis, which examined the contested legacy of the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, won the Zdanowich Prize from Trinity College, Cambridge.
At VOC she is developing curricular materials for an educational project “There Was No Liberation in the East.” This resource will complement VOC’s flagship curriculum for middle and high school students, Communism: Its Ideology, Its History, and Its Legacy.
