On July 2, the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation hosted a virtual conversation with Hugo Acha, Senior Research Fellow for CTOC, Center for a Secure Free Society, and Director of Research and Outreach, Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba.
About the Speaker
Hugo Antonio Acha is a Senior Research Fellow for CTOC for the Center for a Secure Free Society (SFS) and the Director of Research and Outreach for the Foundation for Human Rights in Cuba (FHRC). Mr. Acha is a recognized researcher and lecturer in counterterrorism and combating transnational organized Crime and a guest lecturer to different academic institutions as well as an analyst for several media outlets both in the U.S. and Latin America. Mr. Acha earned his Law Degree from the Universidad Mayor de San Simon in Cochabamba-Bolivia in 1995, his postgraduate education includes courses and diplomas in the Netherlands from the Maastricht School of Management and Brazil from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, and a Master’s Degree in Security, Defense and Development from Escuela de Altos Estudios Nacionales de la Universidad Militar de Bolivia. He is also an alumnus of the William J. Perry Center for hemispheric defense studies in Washington, D.C.
