Tersi Bendiburg

Tersi Agra Bendiburg was born and raised in Cuba until the age of 10. Her family left Cuba for Mexico City in 1963, and they moved to the U.S. shortly after. Growing up in a family and community of exiles where story was the preferred way of communicating, Bendiburg heard many anecdotes and stories as a child. Bendiburg attended the National Storytelling Festival in 1992 and felt at home. She has been sharing her stories ever since. Although Bendiburg enjoys sharing her own stories, her favorite thing even today is to listen to a well-told tale.
