Polish Minister Anna Maria Anders

Please Join VOC in Welcoming Minister Anna Maria Anders, who will be discussing Poland’s strategic and defense interests, as well as the Polish government’s current policy.

Minister Anders is Secretary of State in the Office of Prime Minister Szydło and Plenipotentiary of the President of the Council of Ministers for International Dialogue.

Daughter of General Władyslaw Anders, she was born in London after World War II. The patriotic atmosphere in the general’s home determined her character, outlook, and attitude in life. Educated in the UK at the University of Bristol, she also studied in the United States at Boston University, obtaining an MBA. She worked in the Press Office of UNESCO in Paris, gaining a wealth of experience. For many years she worked in around the world in the oil industry, including in the Middle and Far East, Australia, Canada, the United States, and South America. After visiting Russia and Uzbekistan, Anna Maria Anders decided to complete the work of her father and help Polish descendants of Poles who still live in the former Soviet republics to return to the homeland of their ancestors. Minister Anders is passionate about the issues of defense and education, and takes a particular interest in patriotic education and civic and strengthening the cooperation of Poland with the Polish diaspora.

The event will take place at 300 New Jersey Avenue, NW from 12:00-2:00pm. Lunch will be provided.
