CITIZEN'S PETITION TO REMOVE STALIN - Now Posted

June 17, 2010

Lee Edwards, Ph.D.

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation released an electronic petition, available online at www.StalinStatue.com, calling on the officers and board of directors of the National D-Day Memorial Foundation to remove the Stalin bust from the grounds of the Memorial.

The petition also calls upon U.S. Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar to affirm that the acceptance of the D-Day Memorial as a national park is contingent on the removal of the Stalin statue.

The Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation will record the names of all signatories to this petition and will direct them to the board of directors of the memorial.

This petition follows a statement by Lee Edwards, Ph.D., chairman of the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation, calling for the removal of the bust of Joseph Stalin erected by the D-Day Memorial Foundation. "Statues of Stalin have been torn down all over Europe," said Edwards, "Even in the Soviet Union. The Stalin bust in Bedford, Virginia should be removed immediately."

All Americans can now join the effort to remove this bust by signing this online petition.
